How you’ve grown, from a smiling one year old kid to a very smart young man. I remember when you were born, I remember looking at the clock while waiting with your dad at the reception area of the delivery room at the hospital.

I have started my own blog of you a few days later writing about every important event in your young life, writing about our days together which are so seldom nowadays. I wrote about that one day we will be able to spend the day together and have that lovely exchange of news and ideas and it happened several times. I remember those days while we were at the garden and saw airplanes passing by. You called them big birds. When you got to ride one when you were about two, and when you spent your 7th birthday in Singapore and Malaysia, you always said, ‘those are flying big birds’. Gone are those days but the lovely memories remain. You are now a young boy of eleven, so tall, smart and mature for your age. My goodness, you are taller than I am now. So proud of you most especially of your academic achievements. I love the daring way you face challenges, young as you are. So brave and adventurous🥰.

HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY darling Nate Isidro. Nonna loves you so much.❤🎂🎉🎈🎁

We are so really blessed to have you. And to Nissa, Happy Mother’s Day❤💐

It was a long weekend with Nissa and Obet on leave from work and Nate on school break. They stayed in Cavite, dropped by Tagaytay then on to Batangas where they went swimming. I love Nate’s video which I posted earlier on my other blog. What a brave young man. I am resposting it here along with other photos of their outing.

Nate and Obet had a photo like this at the beach when Nate was two. The two of them even went kayaking.
Brave big boy.

Back when the books were new a few years ago, Nissa always made it a point to reserve a hardbound copy at National Bookstore before it is even out. Nissa would read them first, then Josef and me after both of them. It was the only series that I read back then except of course the 8th book which was published years later. Come to think of it, we even watched the movie adaptations but during the fourth one I think, I slept in the cinema house. Tbey both laughed at me. I must admit the books are always better than the movies. Another series that they shared with me are The Hunger Games (three books in a row). We also watched the movie version.

Nissa bought Nate the whole set in trade paperback and the hardbound 8th book.

He is about done with the first book. More time to read since it is summer break.

Last Saturday, April 29 was Recognition Day in Nate’s school. It was a separate event from the graduation of the higher year. According to Nissa, they no longer give separate medals to students who excel in different subjects except for the graduating students. They give medals though to outstanding students in different grades. Nate got two, Best in English and High Honors Awards. I am not surprised because Nate is bilingual, he speaks both Tagalog and English fluently. Here are some photos of the event.

That’s how he looks in his
school uniform.
Proud of this boy. He earns medals every year since kindergarten.
Proud parents of course.

Congratulations NATE. Nonna misses you❤❤🥰🥰🎈🎈

It’s been more than a month since we saw each other, they were here when Noel and Lanette arrived from the USA. That was more than a month ago.

Yesterday we had our Christmas lunch. We forgot to take pictures except for the two shots I took during our meal prayers. Then I also took pictures of Nissa’s gifts to me.

See how serious Nate was in praying.
Nissa led the prayers. Thanksgiving for all the blessings in our lives and being together again.
The various gifts that Nissa gave me, a set of bedsheets, table runner, table cloth and some items from Marks and Spencer. I have a new umbrella too. How nice!

It was a simple celebration but we enjoyed a few laughs when Nate opened his gifts.

Nate 12-24-20

Yes, we haven’t seen each other for ten months except through Messenger video chats until today. Another milestone in our lives seeing each other again.

No kisses except tights hugs and “I love you Nate” and “I love you Nonna” in between. He has grown so tall for an eight-year old.

Through the short time that they were here, we had lunch together  and Nate enjoyed playing with my revolving computer chair and he said that he liked it.  Nissa didn’t bought him one at home because she knew he would play  with it.

I gave him a set of pajama and Word Factory. I told him to enjoy playing with her mom and dad. It is a good educational game from seven to adult.

Nissa  and I took lots of pictures of course (for prosperity and remembrance).  We will choose which one to upload later.

I guess I won’t need to cook later for Noche Buena, we still have untouched food inside the ref and I ordered two roasted chicken for later.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL.

Time flies….really so fast!

Amidst this deadly pandemic, we  still strive to  have a normal life and one of it is enrolling our precious boy in second grade. They started their online class yesterday and Nissa told me it was a hard change from the face-to-face interaction done in school. All modules were uploaded online but a kid of seven would hardly know what to do without a mother’s supervision even if he can easily navigate his tab. Nissa bought him one a few weeks ago purely  for online learning. She said she was like a teacher unprepared in a single-student class. I told her, in time, they would adjust to it. Her problem is, her mother-in-law is not a techie and it might be hard for her to handle Nate’s online classes when Nissa and Obet  report to the office twice a week.

Good thing, Nate was really enthusiastic to learn. Nissa forwarded some photos of the spare room in their house converted to Nate’s study.

Nate’s study corner with his medals from Nursery to Grade One prominently displayed.

Second grade, school year 2020-2021.

Good luck baby. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS.

Nate was left home when  Nissa and Obet came to visit us  yesterday but Nissa sent these pictures of him taken today.

Chubby, chubby, tabachingching!

Look at his photos. I just laughed seeing him and I miss him all the more.

Look at how he poses in front of the camera with matching shades…haha!

Enjoying the water.

It still seems like summer here. The sun is in its full glory.

Ang mag-ina….bow!

Two front teeth still missing? They all look happy.

In all the more than four months that I haven’t seen him, he has definitely grown.
