I am saving photos of Nate here during their first communion last Friday. He is growing so tall for his age.

He is only nine years old but he looks like a grown-up.
With his dad and mom.
He was one of the readers during the mass. CONGRATULATIONS NATEπŸ™‚ So proud of you.

Oh my!

So proud of this little guy (not so little anymore), he is now almost as tall as I am.

Nissa just forwarded a copy of Nate’s grades for their third grading period. Everything went up despite that most of the time he is unsupervised because Obet and Nissa are now reporting for work in some days of the week. My gosh, Science subject and Math are almost perfect at 99 % each. They are still online every day. I think he is more knowledgeable about his tab than I am about mine 😘

What a smart little guy. So proud being a Nonna.

I took a lot of pictures of Nate when he and Obet were here last March while Nissa was in the hospital.

Back in the last week of March, my son-in-law Obet and Nate stayed with us for four days while Nissa was in the hospital, she was found positive of Covid and was confined for a week.

I took advantage of the days he was here, taking photos, watching him attend his online class, singing and whistling and playing with his toys.

Nissa sent me this photo yesterday. It’s Nate’s latest achievements in Grade 1. By August 24 if schools push through, he’ll be in Grade 2.

And she accompanied it with these inspiring words.

Nate, ever since you started schooling, you’ve never failed to make us proud of your scholastic achievements. You growing up to be a sweet, loving, brave and generous kid means everything. Your medals and awards are just icing on the cake. We hope you know how very happy you make us. We love you, dear Nate.Β CongratulationsΒ on a job well done!

1st grade done, next.

Haha, I smiled when I saw this. Nate’s simple gift to Nissa on Valentine’s Day. LookΒ at the crude style those paper hearts were made….beautiful.Β  It’s a note (again) saying she is an excellent cook and a rose. Sweet. Love it. This is not the first time he wrote toΒ  Nissa. When we were at the hospital a few months ago, he also wrote the same thing that Nissa is #1 when it comes to cooking.

See you in a while Nate.

I remember blogging about that photo fiveΒ  years ago. How he has grown. Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful fathers out there.

Look Daddy, I am big boy now, says Nate.

Yes, our little boy has grown up.

Yes, the school has just given their grades/report cards for the third grading period and he maintained the first slot.

Proud Nonna here. I remember those days when your mommy and your ninong used to receive awards every school year until your mommy graduated MagnaΒ  Cum Laude in college. You have passed on the good gene Nissa πŸ™‚

Nilahat mo na –Β  Batang Maasahan, Joyful Thanksgiver, Busy Bee.Β  Love that perfect attendance. Hope to see you next Saturday.

Again, for the nth time, I am proud of this little boy.Β  They were just given their report cards for the second grading and he got the highest score just like the first grading period.

When a family member is recognized for his achievements, you feel like you are also a winner and you feel that pride of place for being his Nonna.

Ang batang maasahan (a kid you could rely on), a joyful thanksgiver and a busy bee. I could understand the busy bee. He is just so active sometimes he volunteers with works that he can handle. At his young age, he is so responsible.

Proud Nonna here. See you tomorrow baby.

Time flies.

It’s your 6th birthday.

I still could remember the night you were born. Your dad and I were so excited when we were summoned to the delivery room to wait for your birth. We didn’t know you have to stay at the NICU because you had sepsis brought on by the slow labor of your mom after you were induced. The OB Gyn decided for the CS operation a little too late. I got pretty mad because of their neglect.

Good thing your pediatrician was a very good doctor explaining everything to us while you stayed at the NICU for almost a month.

When you were a year old, I wrote a similar letter to you hoping that when you grow a little older and could read every word, you will be able to appreciate it.Β  I am writing to you again today on your 6th birthday.

Nonna is so proud thatΒ  you are doing so well in school, always with high honors and good grades. Nonna is so proud that you have become an articulate little boy who could sometimes argue your point while you also listen. Nonna is so proud that you are growing smartly.Β  You no longer start your sentence with “One day……”. You tell your own stories now, not those tales that you remember. You talk about school and your friends.Β  You talk about always being happy to be here at home, sometimes you don’t even want to take a bath because to you that means going home soon :).

HAPPY, HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY.Β  May you grow to be God-loving,Β  healthy, smart, loving and lovable, kind, compassionate, caring and respectful to your elders. See you soon!
