Yes, some precious moments with Nate captured on cam. He is so fond of making those funny face. I  like it though because he always looks happy in front of the camera.

Play. Play. Play. Telling stories about school. Counting Jelly candies with Mommy. Nice bonding moments.

Yesterday was another milestone in Nate’s life and in ours too, his family.

It was a lovely celebration of Moving Up at the Manila Hotel, a two-hour program where they sang and danced.  They didn’t have this honors awards but Josef got two awards, Best in Reading and best In Science. So proud of you baby. I remember those days when your mom was like your age. I started her in kindergarten instead of nursery school but she got the first honors and a gold medal. Bank in high school and in college I was up the stage every recognition day and graduation. She graduated  Magna Cum Laude.  Hoping you will too when you grow up. I can’t help but post these lovely photos of yours.

how lovely getting those gold medals.

It was one of those days again that I always looked forward to, seeing Nate after a month of just occasionally saying hi and hello at Viber. Every time they come over, I get to notice how he has grown in a month (he doesn’t look like a toddler anymore but a young boy), I get to notice how much he has learned. The playfulness is still there though and sometimes, Nissa gets to shout out loud because he is always running around. It is quite hard to take photos of him now but I managed to take some shots before they left.

Look at that, he seemed so engrossed making doodles on my notebook.

He readily gave up drawing though when he saw us watching a video on Nissa’s phone. Still holding his pencil, he watched the four-year old boy talking rapidly and pointing to a computer screen like he was a pro.

As if it was not enough, he has to raise his foot atop the bed to get a better look. I showed him the pics later and he just smiled. It really made my day…making memories with the family 🙂

He was clutching a 235 ml box of Selecta Moo Chocolate Drink which he got from the ref. I told him, “Come here, I’ll teach you how to read” at the same time pointing to the letter M written in the box.

Nonna: M

Nate: M

Nonna: O

Nate: O

Nate: O

Nonna: How does a cow sounds like? Without second thought he shouted, “Moooooooooooo……” with such panache I can’t help but laugh. Every time they come over, he always checks the ref if he has a box of  Chuckie chocolate drinks inside.

I earned a kiss and a hug after that.

This is a late post actually and it’s long overdue. Our baby turned two last November 22, 2014. Time flies! He is now a talkative two-year old. Sometimes  he speaks in straight English (two or three words in a sentence mostly)  but he also knows how to speak Tagalog.  Nissa and I took some shots when they spent lunch here and when they visited Avilon Zoo.

Where are the candles?

Where are the candles?

Yes, this is his favorite character and he was made to blow the candle several times before Nissa could get the shot right 🙂

Look how serious he is in opening his gifts while his Ninong looks on.

Wow! It's a car, he shouted.

He says, "ang bigat" (it's heavy) while trying to lift the box.

A week ago, they spent the night here and we had a good laugh while we watched him sing, shout and do some story-telling. As usual, he would start it with “one day……” then he smiles. The sweet smile is the end of the story,  ha-ha!

And it’s quite hard now to make him pose for the camera, sometimes he makes faces.  There is really no dull moment when he is around. You’re on your toes except when he is asleep.

I am back, after a long, long absence from this blog. Our baby has grown, he will be turning one year and seven months in a week’s time. The days are definitely moving so fast.

Yesterday, we had lunch at Gumbo, an American style restaurant much like our favorite Burgoo. I had a grand time bonding with my super, super “kulit apo”. Take that to lovingly mean, he was curious about everything, repeating words that he hears even to the point of calling his dad “honey” after hearing his mom call him that way.  I say, he is a great explorer now. I took pictures and some of them made me laugh.

Tender moments between father and child.

The favorite ninong, there is never a dull moment when the two of them are together.

Camera shy? No, he is not. He is just being playful . That's a typical Nate smile.

We were having fun, trying to make those socks and shoes stay in place. Poor Ninong!

Look at the two of them. He was persuading his Ninong to go and explore. Don't you ever get tired baby?

My knees tremble at the thought of running after Nate. His typical walk is running around, left, right, straight up. Looks like he is practicing for the marathon :)

And this completes the day, time spent with the family.

Thank You Lord for all the blessings.

Nate is now at that stage where he imitates every word he hears.  Most of the time, he calls his Ninong Josef “kuya”.  I laughed out load when I heard him say honey/daddy to his Dad because he also heard Nissa call his dad honey.  You also discover something precious from the wisdom of a child. And you feel happy when you see his smiles.

Nate turned  a year and three months old today. I had a lovely time bonding with him when they came over for a visit. I am simply amazed that he already knows a lot of words. A month ago, he can’t even say Mommy or Daddy properly but now he can even imitate familiar animal sounds like a bark of a dog  or  the meow of a cat but one thing that stands out always in his vocabulary  is the word “baby“.  Every time he sees his pictures  which are  displayed on our wall, he will always say, “baby, baby”. Unlike the previous months when I got so frustrated to take his pictures because he can’t stay in one place, today  he seemed to enjoy facing the camera and even made faces.  Call his name and he would answer “po”, a  very respectful way of addressing elders. Nissa taught him to say the word.

The last time Mom saw him, he was still a baby and not yet a year old so she was surprised how he has grown. At his age of fifteen months, he can definitely charm you with smiles, kisses and warm embrace. The joys of being a grandma – truly priceless!
