I am saving photos of Nate here during their first communion last Friday. He is growing so tall for his age.

He is only nine years old but he looks like a grown-up.
With his dad and mom.
He was one of the readers during the mass. CONGRATULATIONS NATE🙂 So proud of you.

Kids and students here are still in the online mode in their schooling.

So far Nate has done well for the last two quarters. They don’t have ranking in honors though this school year. I am sharing his grades here.

Just to summarize because the online photo is so small:

Christian Living and Character Education – 95

Mother Tongue – 95

Filipino – 96

English – 97

Mathematics – 98

Araling Panlipunan – 96

Conduct – A

So proud of this little guy. He is in grade 2 now.

Nissa sent me this photo yesterday. It’s Nate’s latest achievements in Grade 1. By August 24 if schools push through, he’ll be in Grade 2.

And she accompanied it with these inspiring words.

Nate, ever since you started schooling, you’ve never failed to make us proud of your scholastic achievements. You growing up to be a sweet, loving, brave and generous kid means everything. Your medals and awards are just icing on the cake. We hope you know how very happy you make us. We love you, dear Nate. Congratulations on a job well done!

1st grade done, next.

Nonna is so proud of you!

Good thing, Josef stayed at home today finally fixing my PC which I could not boot earlier. When you’re not used to posting on a tab, you get confused and it is quite hard.

Took some pictures of Nate when they came over for Christmas lunch. We played at the garden with his water guns.

Look at how focused he is in inspecting one of the water guns

Haha, he found a way to fill it with water easily.

The Blue Boy in action. He called himself that and he called me The Orange Lady.

I actually took a video of this…two minutes of bliss!

Here is his latest picture with his mom taken just yesterday. He has become a little chubby but I love how he looks now. He has even grown taller.

Haha, happy days are here again, I could finally post photos. Hopefully this  PC would last longer.

The whole  month of August is a celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa where we give thoughts and importance to our own language, Wikang Pilipino. I should be blogging about this in Pilipino but I am not that good in writing one. Just hear me speak 🙂

Welcoming the month with a smile although a little subdued at that. Guess what? He is missing two front teeth. The garb is definitely Pilipino.

Sometimes I often smile and laugh about Nate’s poses in front of the camera. He has a signature pose which he learned  years ago when he joined an acting workshop one summer.

He looks like an endorser of a fruit juice ad 🙂

Some of my friends say that his looks is more on the side of the Abuel which is my maiden name. Some say he looks more like one of my brothers. I say, it’s more like Nissa and Obet combined (but of course).

Mother and son, enjoying the moments together. This was also taken yesterday when they celebrated Father’s Day.

the kiss….

That’s how he kisses when in the mood with a tight hug and tight embrace. Nissa said, “araw ni Daddy ngayon pero may eksena pa rin si Mommy”.  Yeay 🙂

Nissa says, “finally, we have a graduate, sixteen more years to go”.

Sixteen years if of course a long time when you wait for it, but when you just let it pass and wouldn’t mind the passing days, in a blink, you’re done.

There were lots of photos in Nissa’s camera  about the event but she is posting them in increments. These are those photos that stand out though. Since some of them are in high-res, I opted to post them here.

It is always a joy to see you with those big smiles Nate. Ang sipag at tiyaga mag-aral nagbubunga talaga. Nonna is so proud of you.

One of the amenities that Tree Top Adventure at Camp John Hay in Baguio offers is the Canopy Ride. Nate is a brave soul. He was not afraid to try everything. I had fun watching the video Nissa took when they were up in the air and Nate advising everyone to be careful or they might fall.  Too bad, I cannot upload it here. The Canopy Ride is a travel- through- trees 100 feet above the ground using a network of five motorized cables. You can see nature from a different perspective. It must be nice to feel the relaxing cool breeze of Baguio and the scent of pines.

Ready for the ride Nate?

Weren’t you afraid of the height?

Haha!

Next time, you might be on a zip line.

Nature at its best

I copied some pictures of Nate when they were in Baguio over the weekend.  Too bad we didn’t see each other at the parking lot of Shell Select last Sunday. I met Nissa though, she came for a hug and a kiss.

Nate’s signature pose.

“Mommy, it’s cold outside”. I love this one, a serene shot of our big boy.

Happy together 🙂

That somehow naughty smile…..

What a lovely scenery.

Nissa has thousands of photos of Nate in her camera phone – different places, so many poses.

Again, for the nth time, I am proud of this little boy.  They were just given their report cards for the second grading and he got the highest score just like the first grading period.

When a family member is recognized for his achievements, you feel like you are also a winner and you feel that pride of place for being his Nonna.

Ang batang maasahan (a kid you could rely on), a joyful thanksgiver and a busy bee. I could understand the busy bee. He is just so active sometimes he volunteers with works that he can handle. At his young age, he is so responsible.

Proud Nonna here. See you tomorrow baby.
