Nissa sent me this photo yesterday. It’s Nate’s latest achievements in Grade 1. By August 24 if schools push through, he’ll be in Grade 2.
And she accompanied it with these inspiring words.
Nate, ever since you started schooling, you’ve never failed to make us proud of your scholastic achievements. You growing up to be a sweet, loving, brave and generous kid means everything. Your medals and awards are just icing on the cake. We hope you know how very happy you make us. We love you, dear Nate. Congratulations on a job well done!
1st grade done, next.
Nonna is so proud of you!

I love what Nissa wrote. She knows what is most important for a child to mature into a good adult.

She always does, encouraging Nate in so many ways. And Nate reciprocates by writing short notes to her which Nate sometimes place in those small candy boxes. I told her to keep them too.

Yes. I have a scrapbook of cards from my daughter. She should keep her notes.

Mine are still intact in a plastic folder together with their drawings. There was a tine I laughed when Nissa addressed the letter envelope to my office then wrote “From your daughter” at the upper left hand corner. She placed a small sticker in place of a stamp.
