It was one of those days again that I always looked forward to, seeing Nate after a month of just occasionally saying hi and hello at Viber. Every time they come over, I get to notice how he has grown in a month (he doesn’t look like a toddler anymore but a young boy), I get to notice how much he has learned. The playfulness is still there though and sometimes, Nissa gets to shout out loud because he is always running around. It is quite hard to take photos of him now but I managed to take some shots before they left.
Look at that, he seemed so engrossed making doodles on my notebook.
He readily gave up drawing though when he saw us watching a video on Nissa’s phone. Still holding his pencil, he watched the four-year old boy talking rapidly and pointing to a computer screen like he was a pro.
As if it was not enough, he has to raise his foot atop the bed to get a better look. I showed him the pics later and he just smiled. It really made my day…making memories with the family 🙂
Life gets so busy and time flies by so quickly. This is no clearer to us than when we see the little ones in our lives grow and learn. It seems like they advance by leaps and bounds between visits providing pride and a bit of nostalgia of days gone by.
He is so smart and handsome that it is an easy task to be proud and excited to watch him grow and achieve the milestones life demands. In the computer age, it seems like kids are leaps and bounds ahead of us when we were young. At that age, I was making mud pies and eating bugs I found in the dirt! Now kids are so learned by the time they reach primary school. I am glad he is so excited and engaged in learning new things.
I am so happy that you had this wonderful surprise.

And before we know it, they have grown right before our eyes. That is why I am making it a point to update this blog, Nate might want to read it when he understand words and he can read on his own. I enjoy documenting such milestones in his life no matter how simple it is. Last Saturday, we talked about letting Nate experience how to play outdoors, admire Nature instead of just letting him play with gadgets etc. etc. We also talked of food, that at this time in his life, he also needs a balance of everything and eating veggies is a must. I am glad he is not picky with food at the moment. They make it a point they they visit the zoo (there is one near our place).
We were so lucky because our childhood were full of discoveries outside the four walls of our homes. Nissa wants to see Nate grow up like that. She tells me that every time they come over for a visit, Nate knows it’s the way to our place and chants, “Nonna, Nonna”. Thanks again Tina, I do enjoy reading all your lovely comments to my posts. I hope you are doing fine.

I do believe it is the children raised such as you suggest that will have the upper hand in the future. Not to mention, they will be able to find peace outside themselves and their gadgets! I am doing better, thanks.

And I am glad to say that even if Nissa is busy at work, she is a hands-on Mom. Kids nowadays are so smart so we must also teach ourselves to level up and know where they are coming from. We also need to listen to their voices.
I am glad to know that you are doing better Tina. God bless you always.
